On the morning of February 11th, two American tourists, Mr. Jeff Grinspoon and Mr. Jon Thomas Foley, arrived at Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh by helicopter, having taken off from Gia Lam Airport in Hanoi.
These two millionaires, who are involved in the finance sector, are traveling in Vietnam while also seeking investment opportunities in the footwear and real estate industries.
Local leaders welcomed the two millionaires with flowers as they arrived in Quang Ninh.
Prior to this event, the Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism and the Chairman of Van Don District’s People’s Committee were present at the helicopter landing site to greet and present flowers to the American guests.
After the warm welcome, the two millionaires boarded a vehicle to Ao Tien Passenger Port in Van Don to take a high-speed boat to a luxury overnight cruise ship anchored in the Red Canal area of Ha Long Bay.
According to their plan, the two tourists will stay on the cruise ship in Ha Long Bay for three days. During their stay, they will explore the Red Canal – Tra San area, kayak in Ba Ham Lake, and visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village, among other activities.
This group of millionaires and billionaires is the first to visit Quang Ninh as part of a special tour program designed exclusively for wealthy individuals, allowing them to explore Ha Long Bay on a unique itinerary with new stops.
To cater to these special billionaire tourist groups, Quang Ninh province has instructed relevant organizations to develop high-end tourism products under the special tour program. This includes plans to establish seven pristine island areas with beaches in Ha Long Bay aimed at the ultra-wealthy, representing the top 1% of the global population.

The Xuyen Thuy Cave is the unique gateway to the ancient fishing village of Vung Vieng in Ha Long Bay.
Among the attractions is Cat Oan Beach, a pristine white sandbank that emerges from the sea at low tide, connecting limestone mountains with small beaches at their feet. Another area expected to be included in the luxury experience tour in Ha Long Bay is the Tra San – Red Canal region, known for its natural sandy beaches, coral reefs, and diverse underwater life.
In addition to these unique geological sites, the special tour program will also take this elite group of tourists to visit the ancient fishing village of Vung Vieng, a cultural symbol of the Ha Long Bay heritage, recognized by several prestigious international organizations as one of the most beautiful ancient fishing villages in the world.
