Media Experts Speculate on KJP's Future After Departing the White House

As the Biden administration nears its conclusion, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is preparing to step down from her role. Media analysts shared their thoughts with the Daily Caller about what her next steps may be.

The consensus among them is that, despite facing considerable scrutiny for her performance, Jean-Pierre is likely to transition into a contributor position at a cable news network, similar to her predecessor, Jen Psaki, who joined the left-leaning MSNBC.

Kay Hill, a former Daily Caller staffer and media analyst, commented, “She’ll probably end up on a cable talk show geared toward promoting niche books and products to an isolated female audience, akin to many others who have fallen out of favor with mainstream media.”

Curtis Houck, Managing Editor of NewsBusters, agreed, suggesting that she might return to MSNBC or possibly join CNN as a contributor.

Jen Psaki, who served under President Barack Obama, left the Biden administration in 2022 to host her own show, “Inside with Jen Psaki,” on MSNBC.

Houck emphasized that Jean-Pierre’s history of dishonesty and ineptitude should hinder her prospects as a cable news figure. “In a merit-based system, Karine Jean-Pierre would struggle to find work in television news,” he remarked. “It’s surprising to me that she spent years as a recognized commentator in cable news, participating in discussions that required critical thinking rather than just sticking to talking points.”

Several individuals expressed to the Daily Caller that Jean-Pierre’s pattern of untruthfulness could actually make her a suitable candidate for a far-left hosting position. Mollie Hemingway, a best-selling author and editor-in-chief of The Federalist, commented, “KJP was so ineffective and deceitful in her role that I wouldn’t be surprised if she lands a job at CBS News next year.” Jashinsky, a collaborator with UnHerd and co-host of Breaking Points, added that Jean-Pierre may have less clout than her predecessors due to the struggles and perceived failures of the Biden administration during her tenure. “The Biden brand is faltering, even among left-leaning audiences. It may be hard for her to secure a role as high-profile as Jen Psaki’s at MSNBC, especially since Psaki exited before the administration faced major controversies,” noted Jashinsky. Others echoed his concerns, pointing out that Jean-Pierre’s history of dishonesty might be difficult to overcome. “Where does someone go to make amends for the myriad of fabrications she relayed to the American public regarding Biden’s condition?” asked Scott Jennings, a prominent conservative commentator on CNN and a new member of the LA Times editorial board. “She has been at the center of one of the largest scandals in American politics,” he concluded, emphasizing that she consistently defended President Biden’s mental sharpness despite clear signs of cognitive decline.

In June, she described videos showing the President appearing disoriented during the G7 Summit as “cheap fakes,” claiming that news outlets reporting on these clips were engaging in misleading editing.

During the summer, Jean-Pierre repeatedly supported President Biden, asserting his mental acuity even after his widely criticized debate performance, which ultimately led to his withdrawal from the race.

On July 3, she assured reporters that Biden was “sharp as ever.” Yet, just weeks later, he announced his decision to exit the campaign.

More recently, Jean-Pierre was noted for misrepresenting the situation surrounding potential pardons for Hunter Biden. Multiple times, she reassured the press that President Biden would not grant a pardon to his son.

“We’ve been asked that question several times, and our answer remains no,” she stated in November.
