Who betrayed and poisoned the renowned general Nguyễn Kim?
In 1545, Nguyễn Kim was assassinated as part of a betrayal orchestrated by a general from the Mạc dynasty. This general, Dương Chấp Nhất, hailing from Hoằng Hóa (Thanh Hóa), served as a court official and military leader under Mạc Đăng Doanh. He rose to the rank of Chưởng bộ and was granted the title Trung Hậu hầu, overseeing three districts in Thanh Hóa and acting as the governor of the entire region.
