Business Highlights of the Week: Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel Acquired by Muong Thanh Group

Recently, the Muong Thanh Group, associated with tycoon Le Thanh Than, has taken over the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel owned by Bầu Đức.

What is the potential of the new owner of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel?

A representative from Muong Thanh Hospitality announced that the company is in the process of acquiring the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel located at 1 Phu Dong, Pleiku City. More specific information will be released by Muong Thanh in the near future.

According to the National Business Registration Portal, Muong Thanh Group was established in October 2012 and is linked to the well-known businessman Le Thanh Than. Since 2014, Mrs. Le Thi Hoang Yen has served as the CEO and legal representative of Muong Thanh Group.

After several changes in business registration, in August 2022, Muong Thanh Group increased its charter capital to over 2,799 billion VND. However, the specific capital contributions of shareholders were not disclosed. Mrs. Le Thi Hoang Yen continues to hold the position of CEO and legal representative of the company.

In 2019, Le Thanh Than was prosecuted for deceiving customers due to violations in planning at the CT6 project in the Kien Hung Urban Area (Ha Dong, Hanoi).

Bầu Đức’s daughter registers to buy an additional 2 million HAGL shares

On August 15, Ms. Doan Hoang Anh, daughter of Doan Nguyen Duc (Bầu Đức), the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (HAGL – stock code HAG), announced a stock transaction.

She plans to purchase an additional 2 million HAG shares to increase her ownership from 11 million shares to 13 million shares, raising her stake from 1.04% to 1.23%. The transaction is expected to take place from August 20 to September 18, either through agreement or matching orders.

With the share price at over 10,000 VND on August 15, if the transaction is successful, Ms. Doan Hoang Anh will need to invest over 20 billion VND to increase her stake in HAG.

Truong Gia Binh’s company receives positive news

FPT Group recently announced its business results for the first seven months of 2024, reporting revenues of 34,243 billion VND and pre-tax profit of 6,075 billion VND, representing increases of 20.5% and nearly 20% compared to the same period last year. The net profit for the parent company’s shareholders rose nearly 23% to 4,285 billion VND, equivalent to an EPS of 2,934 VND per share.

In July 2024 alone, FPT’s pre-tax profit reached 875 billion VND, growing 20% year-on-year. The net profit for July surged 25% compared to the same month last year, reaching 613 billion VND.

Năm 2024, FPT aims for record high business targets with revenues of 61,850 billion VND (~2.5 billion USD) and a pre-tax profit of 10,875 billion VND, both up about 18% compared to the results achieved in 2023. With the results achieved in the first seven months, the group has completed 55% of its revenue target and 56% of its profit goal.

Recently, FPT inaugurated a new office in Mita District, Minato-ku, one of Tokyo’s most prestigious and expensive areas, home to major corporations like NEC Global and KCCS. This office will also serve as FPT’s new headquarters in Japan.

The “spiritual billionaire” acquires 10% of Hoa Sen’s preferential shares

Hoa Sen Group recently announced the list of 162 individuals participating in its preferential share issuance program, categorized into seven groups based on their positions.

The allocation ratio for senior leadership is 26%. Among them, Chairman Le Phuoc Vu will purchase the most, acquiring 10% of the 5 million shares to be issued, equivalent to 500,000 shares. He is followed by Tran Ngoc Chu, Vice Chairman, and Vu Van Thanh, CEO, purchasing 400,000 shares (8%) and 150,000 shares (6%) respectively.

The senior executive management and senior advisors will purchase 20% and 10% respectively, while senior assistants will acquire 23%. The remaining shares will be allocated to middle and upper management groups.

According to the plan, Hoa Sen will issue 5 million shares under the employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), representing 0.81% of the total outstanding shares. The issuance price is set at 10,000 VND per share, half of the current market price. On the daily chart, HSG shares continue to show a long-term upward trend since December 2022.
